What is ThermiSmooth™?
ThermiSmooth™ is a unique hand piece used with the Thermi RF system to deliver targeted heating to the surface of the skin, tightening and increasing collagen production to diminish visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles, lines, and sagging skin in the neck and face.
What is the science behind ThermiSmooth™?
Collagen is a natural building block of healthy skin, supporting the skin at the structural level, and imparting volume and fullness to the skin. Collagen under the surface of the skin will shrink when exposed to sustained heat above 40ºC. This delivery of heat initiates a process whereby the skin begins to tighten and the visible effects of aging, such as wrinkles and sagging skin, are diminished. The ThermiSmooth™ handpiece delivers this heat in a precisely controlled manner to ensure patient comfort.
How does ThermiSmooth™ compare to other skin tightening treatments?
The Thermi RF™ skin tightening system, with its unique ThermiSmooth™ technology, is the only system in which temperature can be adjusted to precisely the correct setting to effectively treat each patient’s unique and specific concerns. This superior temperature control system greatly enhances the patient’s comfort and safety during the procedure.
What conditions does ThermiSmooth™ treat?
ThermiSmooth™ is used to rejuvenate almost any area of the face and reduces the appearance of saggy bags under the eyes, as well as lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin around the mouth, forehead, eyelids, and neck.
How many ThermiSmooth™ treatments are required?
ThermiSmooth™ treatments work over multiple sessions, and the number of treatments depends on your aesthetic goal, as well as the general condition of your skin. During your initial consultation, Dr. Keller or one of our specialists will inform you of the number of ThermiSmooth™ treatments required to achieve your goals.
What happens during a ThermiSmooth™ treatment?
A lubricating gel is applied to the treatment area. The handpiece is set to a specific target temperature and is gently moved across the treatment area using a sweeping or circular pattern. The ThermiSmooth™ handpiece is designed to automatically adjust its temperature based on feedback from the patient’s skin. Each ThermiSmooth™ treatment session will treat a small area for about five minutes.
What results can I expect after a ThermiSmooth™ treatment?
Most patients will see visible results after the first treatment, but improvements will continue over a period of three to six months as increased collagen production continues to improve the tone and texture of your skin.
