Belotero in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, CA
Keller Plastic Surgery, led by Dr. Gregory S. Keller, a board-certified facial plastic surgeon, provides Belotero® treatments and other dermal injections to enhance the facial appearance in men and women who reside in Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Beverly Hills, and surrounding neighborhoods in Southern California.
What is Belotero®?
Belotero® is an FDA-approved dermal injection that is made from natural ingredients and rejuvenates the face by diminishing the appearance of deep nasolabial folds that extend from the nostrils to the outer corners of the mouth, as well as other lines and wrinkles in the area of the nose and mouth.
How can Belotero® improve my facial appearance?
Belotero® delivers hyaluronic acid; a substance produced naturally in the human body that binds with moisture in skin cells, promoting and nourishing the skin’s natural hydration process to gradually restore volume, firmness, and elasticity to the skin. Over time, as your skin cells become more hydrated, wrinkles and lines begin to fade away naturally, creating a gradual rejuvenation process.
What makes Belotero® unique?
Belotero® works specifically on nasolabial folds, as well as wrinkles, lines, and creases in the area of the mouth and nose. Belotero® provides natural-looking results that develop gradually over time while restoring your skin’s natural hydration using a minimally invasive procedure that provides lasting results with no downtime.
Who should consider Belotero® injections?
Belotero® is safe for most healthy adults and is ideal for those who want to eliminate lines, creases, wrinkles, and folds specifically around the nose and mouth area. Smokers and others with visible skin damage around the mouth and nose area will enjoy a dramatic improvement in skin firmness, plumpness, and smoothness with Belotero®. Because Belotero® may trigger allergic reactions in a small percentage of individuals, it is not considered suitable for individuals who suffer from multiple or severe allergies, or those with a history of anaphylaxis, or allergies to gram-positive bacterial proteins.
How should I prepare for Belotero® injections?
Dr. Keller will evaluate your medical history and skin condition, as well as inquire as to any medications you may be taking, including aspirin, NSAIDs, blood thinners, and medicines that affect your immune system, as you may have to temporarily suspend taking these medications to prepare for treatment. If you have any type of skin condition or irritation such as cold sores, cysts, pimples, rashes, hives, or an infection, treatment may have to be postponed until the condition has subsided.
How is Belotero® Administered?
We use a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment area prior to administering the injections in order to prevent any potential discomfort. Belotero® is delivered by direct injection into the treatment area using an extremely fine-gauge needle.
What kind of results can I expect with Belotero®?
Immediately upon completion of treatment, you will notice increased firmness and skin volume, with fewer and less pronounced wrinkles, lines, and creases. Over time, as the hyaluronic acid in Belotero® promotes increased hydration in your skin cells, lines and wrinkles will continue to fade away gradually, and your skin will continue to become more smooth and supple.
How many Belotero® treatments will I need?
Most patients achieve long-lasting results after only one Belotero® treatment, however, others may require a follow-up treatment after about six months.
